Shapes For Maternity Body Pillows

If you are an expectant mother and on your way to your second trimester, you will be experiencing many changes on your body. One of those is the growth of your belly. As your baby grows, so is your tummy. As your tummy gets bigger, sleeping on your back or on your stomach becomes impossible as doing so will cause body pains; specifically on your legs, backs, and thighs. You must be aware then as early as possible that though your stomach hasn’t grown bigger yet, you have already prepared the stuffs you need to support your entire body. Don’t wait for the need to arise before you decide to buy maternity body pillows for yourself.

More women have agreed on the medical and relaxation benefits of pregnancy pillows. They are designed to follow the shape of the body during pregnancy in way that will totally support it from head to toe. Please note though that while they are becoming trends these days, you cannot necessarily buy them in stores described as “maternity body pillow” on their tags. It is imperative that you are aware of the shapes of pillows available in the market that are created to address to the needs of pregnant women.

A rectangle shaped body pillows is one basic pillow that’s quite bigger than the regular head pillow we use. Its shape is ideal to just tuck it between the knees to support the hips. The candy cane body pillow looks like a life size candy cane, where you can snuggle with it as you put it on  one of your body. Its upper part then will support your head, neck and shoulders. A U-shaped pillow will completely surround your body for added support and comfort, but may cause you to get warm while sleeping. A hook-shaped pillow on the other hand has a thicker padding at the top. It just looks like a candy cane pillow.
