The 5 Best Tools to Bring On a Ghost Hunt

Ghost Busters and Kaylah

So you are thinking about capturing your own ghost footage but do not know what the top 5 tools of the trade you have or need for that matter. Where do you go to find out? There are actually several different websites that sell equipment for a ghost hunt.

Surely you have seen the different paranormal television shows that show teams on a ghost hunt setting up carrying what seems like tons of equipment.  While you may not be able to afford everything you see on television there are some tools that are common sense.

A very easy one is of course a camera, both digital camcorders and cameras, to try to capture your own authentic ghost footage. There are many haunted ghost videos on television and the internet some much more believable than others, and some of those videos of real ghosts are actually pretty scary.

The technology in cameras alone has helped to catch more ghosts on video camera in many years, as well as some pretty tricky camera work and hard work of some pranksters.

A digital voice recorder is a good idea as well, there have been occasions where there are things heard in the recordings that were not heard during the ghost hunt. Most of the paranormal research teams that you see on television will go over the recordings for hours listening for noises or disembodied voices. There have also been recordings where the ghost is talking back, though it is very rarely a clear voice.

There is also a tool called a Thermal Scanner that is used to detect cold areas that are often felt when ghosts are in the vicinity. The common theory when it comes to cold spots is believed to be from the ghost trying to draw energy from the where it is located. Thermal Scanners of one brand or another are used by all paranormal research teams that are attempting to catch a ghost on video.

This one might not be within the budget but is one that is used by people in the paranormal research field. The Electro Magnetic Field Meter is a tool that is used to detect fluctuations in the electromagnetic field around an area of paranormal activity.

The last one is really simple but probably gets overlooked quite a bit, pencil and paper. Having hand written notes about everything that occurred on the ghost hunt, but all the prior research as well is not a bad idea. Enjoy trying to capture your own real ghost on video.
