The Advantages of a Mini Sewing Machine

Are you a home sewer with thousands of sewing projects that do not require a heavy duty sewing machine? Most home sewers want a sewing machine that is reliable and sturdy. They want to be able to sew many types of fabrics with ease.

And they often consider the larger more expensive model machines to handle these needs and requirements. Those who sew only on special occasions or who are light sewers probably would prefer a smaller more light weight machine that they could easily store away when not in use. Mini sewing machines are the perfect solution for the occasional home sewer who is more involved with crafting, sewing on buttons, hemming, or repairing zippers.

Most of these smaller sewing machines have all the necessary features that the occasional home sewer or crafter could want. All that is needed in most circumstances is a basic machine that has several built in stitching patterns, speed controls, plenty of accessories. It also helps to have a place to store those accessories.

Many of the smaller sewing machines run on electricity or batteries. So, the sewing machine is packaged with a power adapter and batteries. The machines are usually small and weigh only a few pounds. Consequently, it is quite easy to move the machine from room to room. And these machines also give the user the option to use an included foot pedal. Storage is easy because they take up very little space.

Most are probably thinking, “Do I really need a smaller sewing machine?” Well, consider this; if you are new to the sewing game and not sure if you wish to pursue this hobby long term, purchase a smaller less expensive sewing machine. Some purchase an expensive sewing machine with grand designs and it ends up in the corner collecting dust. Also, if you prefer portability then purchase a smaller machine like Singer Futura embroidery machine or Singer 7470.
