Tent and Trailer Camping – Great Family Get Away

good morning!

Camping is an inexpensive option for a family getaway and a wonderful way to see the country. Take a weekend trip to the local campground or travel a few states over.

Children especially love camping and being out in nature. Whether using a tent or a trailer, there are many ways to make camping a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Tent camping is the most common and easiest way to camp. There are many tents sizes available to fit every family’s need. It is best to go bigger when considering tent size so each person has ample space to sleep comfortably and store baggage.

Grab a tent and a couple sleeping bags, pack a cooler with food and drink, and off you go. Keep in mind that facilities, such as bathrooms and laundry, are shared with others in the campground.

Bring a stove or grill and pans for cooking, bikes, and folding chairs. Air mattresses or cots can be used to make sleeping more comfortable.

When looking for more luxury while camping, try travel trailers. Some campsites offer trailer rentals while others do not, so check with the campground office before you arrive.

Camping in a trailer provides more privacy and personal amenities such as having your own bathroom, a bed, and even a cooking stove and eating area. It is like being in a miniature apartment.

Oftentimes there is storage inside or on the outside of the trailer to carry bikes, folding chairs, and any other needed equipment.

The best part of camping, whether tent or trailer camping, is the campfire. If there is no room to bring your own wood, it is usually available for purchase at the campground.

Gather around the campfire and tell stories, roast marshmallows, and enjoy each other’s company. A time-tested favorite is to make S’mores, which is melted marshmallow and chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
