When it comes to performance, the Hobie Oasis Kayak is awesome. I used to take the kayak out into the Gulf on my own when the water was calm. I was able to travel several miles using the standard fins. When I was traveling in between two keys, the tide was heading out. This means that I was in the type of turbulent water that most people try to avoid. I pushed right through the fast moving water, even though at times I was moving only inches at a time as I went against the current.
Another great fishing feature is having free hands. You can drive with your feet and use the small lever to steer, which means you have two free hands for your reels and gear. This is something that you can do with the Hobie Oasis that you cannot do with a paddle-kayak. The high quality construction and convenient features make this a premium product.
This is a great open-water craft that moves fast, performs well and even does a great job in the type of water conditions that scare kayakers.
