10 Ways to Enjoy Working Out

Working out (especially cardio) can be a bit boring sometimes and that can even cause that we skip gym appointments. But as the definition and tightness of our bodies are directly correlated to the amount of times that we workout, it makes sense to having ways to enjoy working out more.

That’s why I have compiled a list of 10 surefire ways of enjoying working out more.

1. Listen to upbeat music

When I listen to funky, upbeat music, I enjoy my workout 10 times more and I also take the pace up more than I would when I didn’t listen to any music.

2. Work out with a partner

A workout partner can help you to commit to your gym workouts and chatting with her can make the time fly quicker.

3. Watch a fun TV show

Watching a fun TV show will also make the minutes just fly by, all the while having lots of fun.

4. Get high on endorphins

Exercise releases endorphins – feel good hormones. That’s bound to be a reason to enjoy working out even more.

5. Have a workout mantra

When you have a workout mantra like “I am building my lean body”, you are bound to push yourself further and enjoy it more.

6. Have a picture of how you want to look nearby

Having a goal to work towards and also having visual representation of it nearby in the form of a picture will add some purpose and enjoyment to your workouts.

7. Do interval training

Interval training changes the pace and intensity each minute making it more interesting and enjoyable.

8. Document your workouts

When you document your workouts, you will have a purpose and a driving force – that’s sure to make your workouts more fun.

9. Take up a group class

Group classes are very sociable and they are also very fun and upbeat.

10. Have positive and healthy rewards

Rewarding yourself when you reach your targets will help you to keep things interesting.

A note on exercise

Remember that you have to include both weight training and cardio like running, walking or bike riding. When you do weight training you can either use free weights or adjustable dumbbells. I prefer the adjustable ones as they give you more options.
