If hemorrhoids bother you, there are a number of different treatments currently available. Getting the facts on each of these hemroid treatments can help you to decide which one might be best for you.
Surgery has long been the preferred method of treatment for serious hemroid conditions. While the surgical procedure is not as difficult or as painful as you may fear, it is only one of the options available for treatment.
In general, surgery is only considered essential for the worst cases and most people will never require surgery. If your hemorrhoids are very large, cause difficulty due to protrusion, or cause you a great deal of pain, traditional surgery may be your best option.
A laser procedure is a newer method. In most cases, it works as well as traditional surgery. The recovery period for the laser procedure is shorter, and does not usually include the higher risk of complications associated with traditional surgery.
The procedure itself carries a lesser degree of risk, as does the form of anesthesia. In most cases, the laser procedure does not require a general anesthesia, and is performed on an outpatient basis.
Minor cases of hemorrhoids can often be dealt with by the use of topical creams. These creams can be purchased over the counter at many of your local stores. If your hemorrhoids are not severe, one of these topical creams can eliminate or reduce the pain, itching, and general annoyance of hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids can be bothersome at the least, at their worst, they can interfere with your basic comfort and ability to enjoy life. The good news is that they can be reduced or eliminated.
All you need to do is choose the method that is best for you. If you are unsure about which method is best for your particular situation, your physician will be more than happy to provide a recommendation.
Hemorrhoids do not need to continue causing discomfort and disrupting your life.
